White-label Candle Dropshipping

Some large candle-making companies (and a few smaller ones too) let people set themselves up as affiliates or retailers. As a customer, this doesn't impact you much, though you'll probably find a better price at the wholesaler or dropshipper themselves than at an affiliate. But to those looking to get into the candle business, it can change their plans significantly.

If you have the skills to make candles, and are willing to spend the money to buy the scents and wax you need to jump in feet-first, reselling candles will probably not make sense. But if you're looking to focus more on the sales side of the business, private label products can save you a lot of time and trouble.

Make sure you choose the wholesaler carefully, since it can take a lot of effort to switch once you get started--you'll have to redo your available products lists and perhaps make large price changes to accomodate. Small businesses that can't afford to stock lots of different scents may also find private-labelling a very viable option.

Choose a wholesaler with enough fragrances to cover a wide variety of customer preferences, and consider finding one that will dropship other similar products as well--candles are a narrow niche of gift products that can be complemented by many other items. Read all the terms of the wholesaler you decide to work with and make sure you know all of what you have to do.

With the large reach of the Internet, having a private-label website set up by your source can save you lots of time, but beware if they're in control of it. Sometimes it is better to use their templates and edit it independently on other servers and domains not hosted by them in case they go out of business or change ownership.
